Aixa de la Cruz Ventosa is a Spanish writer and playwright. She was born in Bilbao in 1988. During her school years, she elaborated prose texts ranging from articles and short stories to a full-length novel, which gained her access to the fifth young creator’s promotion program of the Antonio Galaen Foundation in 2006. She published her first two novels in 2007 and 2009; both have been finalists of the Euskadi Prize for Literature. Her play, I Don’t Like Mondays, a finalist of the Margarita Xirgú and Madrid Sur contests, was released in Mexico in 2012, during the International Young Playwrights Week in Monterrey. Aixa has collaborated in several anthologies of short stories, including Best European Fiction 2015. In 2014, she was the winner of Cosecha Eñe, the Eñe Magazine annual prize for short stories. She lives in Spain and currently teaches at the Writers’ School in Madrid.
