Andreas Stichmann, born in Bonn in 1983, studied at the German Institute for Literature in Leipzig. In 2008, he published his first book, a short story collection which won him, among other things, the Clemens Brentano Prize. His first novel, Das große Leuchten (2012, ‘The Great Shining’), was nominated for the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize and received the Bremen Literature Prize. His second novel followed in 2017. Andreas Stichmann lives in Berlin.
