Mati Shemoelof is an Israeli poet, editor and writer. He was born in Haifa in 1972 and holds a BA in Theater Studies from Tel Aviv University and an MA in History from the University of Haifa. He has published six books of poetry so far. The last of them: Hebrew Outside Its Sweet Limbs” was published in 2017. His book “Shower of Darkness and Other Stories” was published in 2014. Shemoelof edited various periodicals and anthologies. He was one of the founders of the movement and the publishing house “Guerilla Culture,” and initiated the establishment of the “Poet’s Struggle.” He was also a partner in the “Poetic Hafla” initiative – multilingual reading evenings in Berlin. His poems and stories have been translated into several languages. He lives in Berlin and Tel Aviv.
