Writer, poet, translator and publisher Yotam Reuveni was born in the city of Iași in Romania in 1949 and immigrated with his family to Ashdod in Israel in 1964. In 1978, his first book, In Favor of Illusion, was published and received excellent responses from critics and readers. Reuveni has translated numerous books and plays from international literature into Hebrew. He has published many novels and poetry books. His book, The Autobiography of Jean Riban (Reuveni’s former name), was published in 2015 and was shortlisted for the Sapir Prize that year. In 2000, Reuveni established the independent publishing house Nimrod, which has published excellent translations of Romanian literature, among other literary pieces. He lived in Tel Aviv for many years. Recently, he has moved back to Ashdod. His novel Ashdoders (Afik) was published in 2017.
