Douglas Silver’s fiction has appeared in The Sun, Kenyon Review, The Cincinnati Review, New England Review, The Chicago Tribune Printers Row Journal, Callaloo, and elsewhere. His work was cited as a “Distinguished Story” in Best American Short Stories 2019. An Elizabeth George Foundation grant recipient and former writer-in-residence at the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation, he is the founder and executive director of Gotham Food Pantry. Born on Long Island, he spent nearly two decades in New York City. He now splits his time between the Hudson Valley and Jersey City, where he lives with his partner, their perfect dog, and a rotating menagerie of foster dogs.
