Julia Fermentto is an Israeli writer. She was born in Kfar Saba in 1984 and lived most of her adult life in Tel Aviv. At the age of 24 she wrote her first novel Safari which was published in 2011 to great acclaim. Her stories were published in the United States, Britain, Germany, and Poland. She holds a master’s degree in literature from Tel Aviv University and is currently a doctoral student in American Jewish literature and Yiddish literature at the University of California, San Diego. Her second novel, Kfar Saba 2000, won her the Ministry of Culture Prize for early writers, and will be published in 2017.
