Karen Köhler was born in 1974. She wanted to be an astronaut, trained as a parachutist, and studied drama in Berne. After some years of engagement as an actor, she now lives in Hamburg where she writes drama and prose. She has received various awards and writers’ grants. Karen Köhler’s Wir haben Raketen geangelt (2014, We Were Fishing for Rockets) is one of the most successful short story collection of the past few years in Germany.
