Nella Larsen (born Nellie Walker; 1891 – 1964) was an American novelist known for “Quicksand” and “Passing”. Although she wrote only a few works, she was recognized by her contemporaries. Interest in her writing has revived since the late 20th century, focusing on racial and sexual identity, making her a key figure in the Harlem Renaissance and American modernism.
