Terézia Mora was born in 1971 in Sopron, Hungary. She has lived in Berlin since 1990 and is one of the most important German-speaking authors. For her novel Das Ungeheuer, she received the German Book Prize in 2013. Her literary debut, the short story collection Seltsame Materie, was already published in 1999. For these stories, she was awarded, among others, the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize. Most recently, the volume Nicht sterben with her Frankfurt Poetics Lectures was published by Luchterhand. Terézia Mora is also one of the most renowned translators from Hungarian.
